Legislative mandate
The Limpopo Economic Development Agency Act, Act 5 of 2016, requires LEDA to accelerate economic development and diversify the provincial industrial base while improving the competitiveness of Limpopo's economy.
Mandate directives
- Identify short-, medium- and long-term interventions that accelerate economic and industrial development and job creation.
- Implement catalytic projects coherently and in partnership with priority stakeholders.
- Support strategic economic sectors in line with provincial economic and industrial policy.
- Strengthen regional economic collaboration and connect underdeveloped areas to economic frontiers.
- Improve export performance and attract a greater share of domestic and foreign investment.
- Increase the number of sectors producing high-quality, value-added products and services.
- Progressively strengthen LEDA's own revenue generation and collection.
